Skiers zig-zag down the lake, skiing around 6 buoys in a Slalom Course. With each successfull pass through the course, the rope gets shorter or the boat increases in speed, increasing difficulty. Every buoy a skier skis around adds to his or her score.
Skiers execute a series of tricks during a 20 second interval. The more numerous or more difficult the tricks, the more points the skier earns. Among others, tricks include surface, wake, and aerial tricks, performed while holding on to the ski handle with hands (hand tricks) or a foot (toe tricks) Trick skis consist of one or two short skis without fins. Competitors may also ride a wakeboard or knee board to compete for partial points.
Skiers ride a pair of large skies over a 5ft tall ramp, competing to travel the farthest in the air before landing back on the water and riding away on the skis.
